Looking through the Viral 50 this week, I found something really telling. Instead of focusing on one breakthrough artist like usual, there are smart moves happening across the whole chart right now. Different artists, different genres - all showing us what's working. Let's break down these strategies.

Doechii
It’s no surprise seeing "Denial is a River" at the top after that Grammy performance stirred everything up. Her timing here was smart - waited a bit before responding to the lip sync accusations, which kept the buzz going and the conversation alive.
Fetty Wap
Here's something interesting - "Again" from the album “Trap Queen” is on is back on the charts after 10 years, riding a new TikTok trend. This really drives home an important point: if your song is new to people, its age doesn't matter. Nobody's checking release dates when they're posting and making videos.
proderics & melodybloom - "strangers" (#7)

sitting at #7 on the viral 50 as of 2/22/25
This track is interesting - it was probably made in Garageband in someone's bedroom, and you can hear it. Bass out of tune, dry guitar, dry vocals - but none of that matters because it's connecting and landing on the charts anyway. The vibe is working.
The Edit Strategy
What kicked this whole thing off wasn't even the original song - it was an edit. And that's becoming one of the main ways songs break right now. It's sitting at #3 on the viral chart with just 7,718 posts, which tells you something's really clicking here.
Earnest Posting
A lot of you are scared of what I call earnest posting. I get it. Being earnest, being vulnerable, can be cringe as fuck - but it can also really connect with people. Their biggest post was just pure excitement about seeing people they've followed using their song, how surreal it felt. Then mentioned they wrote it about Naruto characters. And I know some of you are like "oh the story's so stupid" - but most songs don't have some deep story. Being real worked. People connected with that.
@melodybloom_ Ugh I love this beat so much everyone say thank you Eric🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 #fyp #fypシ #foryou #stevelacy #melodybloom #pinkpanther
