One of the things I was trying to do with Dexter and The Moonrocks was show, through a band, a lesson you could learn from. I want to do the same thing this week. With Dexter, the lesson was that they looked at their culture and kept talking about it because their culture is their fans' culture, and they use that to connect with people who would be into their music.
Sonic Positioning
So what I want to discuss this week is positioning that is not just a look. When we did the positioning masterclass - the most popular video I have on this channel by far in the member feed - you guys seemed to be really into that.
So I want to talk about sonic positioning this week. I think I've found a good way to discuss it through some of your suggestions and questions.

thrown
What I thought was really interesting is that I was suggested this group called thrown. I had heard of them and have a lot of friends who listen to them, but I had not hit play until you guys suggested it. I was like, okay, we'll dig into this and see what I can find.

I was thinking about doing this one because one of the complaints was that I hadn't covered much metal. Now I know some of you are like, "Metal, great, I'm out." We're not really going to be discussing metal. What we're going to be discussing is sonic positioning.
I promise you, I will get there - just let me cook for a little bit. I promise what smells funky like fish sauce and ass in the kitchen right now is gonna be a delightful dish in a few minutes.
